Age of Decadence

Today was the last day in Paris and we headed to the Palace of Versailles. The palace is opulence at the extreme end.

Not quite as cool as the gate at home but it will do

We tottered around the palace for a bit and looked at all the stuff (including a wing for all the Kings mistresses ;-) ). We then went out to the gardens..... good grief, the sheer scope of that place is mindblowing, around every corner in that garden is a fountain or a colonnade or statue or just something that is far too over the top. We spent around 45mins inside the palace and the rest of the time in the gardens, was spectacular.

That is one savage garden

In the afternoon we headed back to Paris and chilled out for a bit then went for a walk and got some snacks for the road in the morning. We ended up back at the same restaurant and there was another couple from the trip there so we joined for some eats. They were heading back to the Eiffel tower for one last look at the old girl so we decided to tag along.

When we got to the tower there were police everywhere and quite a few of the roads towards the tower were blocked off. We did manage to walk around and get some pretty spectacular shots of the tower.

There she is in all her phallic beauty

We then headed back to the hotel for our mandatory 6 hrs of regulated sleep time.

Amber's entry into Paris fashion week, very couture
